Man arrested and charged following football disorder

Around 6.50pm last night – Tuesday, 30 December, 2025 – Police were made aware of disorder in the Albion Road area of Edinburgh ahead of the Hibernian v Aberdeen match.

Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested for behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. He will appear at court at a later date.

An investigation is under way to identify further individuals involved in the disturbance.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested during the match in connection with a pitch invasion at the Edinburgh derby on Saturday, 27 December, 2025. 

He was charged and will appear in court at a later date.

Sexual assaults in Stockbridge: Man to appear in court on Monday

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with six sexual assaults in Stockbridge and the New Town.

Police received reports of three incidents on the evening of Friday, 12 December, 2025, in the Fettes Row, Inverleith Row and Saxe Coburg Street areas. Three further incidents were reported thereafter in the Dean Bank Lane and Royal Crescent areas.

Following extensive enquiries, a 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 22 December.

Detective Inspector Dougal Begg said: “We know these incidents caused concern in the local community and I would like to thank members of the public for their support during our enquiries.”

Man arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in Edinburgh

WATSON CRESCENT VICTIM NAMED AS ELVIS PALLA

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of man in Edinburgh.

Around 6.10am on Saturday, 13 December, 2025, we were called to a report of a death at a property in Watson Crescent. 

Emergency services attended and a 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 34-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday, 15 December, 2025).

The 34-year-old man who died at a property in Watson Crescent, Edinburgh on Saturday, 13 December, 2025 has been named as Elvis Palla.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 15 December, 2025.

Serious assault at West End: Man arrested and charged

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh’s West End.

The incident took place on Queensferry Street around 11.40pm on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025.

A 39-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

The 36-year-old man is due to appear in court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Attempted murder in Wester Hailes: Man to appear in court

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder and possession of a firearm in Wester Hailes.

The incident occurred on Thursday, 24 July, 2025 on Hailesland Gardens, Edinburgh around 3.40pm.

The 25-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow – Friday, 15 August, 2025.

Man arrested and charged following Calder Road drugs recovery

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the recovery of drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £347,760, in South West Edinburgh.

Around 12pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, officers acting on information received searched a flat in Calder Road where they found a cannabis cultivation.

The man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

York Place sexual assault: Man arrested and charged

A 20-year-old man as been arrested and charged following a report of a serious sexual offence of a 15-year-old girl in Edinburgh.

The incident took place in the York Place area on Sunday, 25 May, 2025.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Courttoday (Monday, 2 June, 2025).

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Man arrested and charged following damage to properties in Edinburgh

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with damage to properties in Edinburgh.

The incidents happened at properties in the Campion Road and Cumnor Crescent areas of the city during the evening of Saturday, 10 May, 2025.

He has also been charged in connection with a reset offence after a car was stolen from the Falkirk area on 29, April, 2025.

Officers executed a warrant at an address in the Gilmerton area on the morning of Wednesday, 14 May, 2025 where the man was arrested.

He has been charged and is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today – Thursday, 15 May, 2025.

Detective Superintendent Paul Grainger said: “We continue to work at pace to identify and apprehend anyone we believe is involved in incidents of violent disorder, and arrests will continue as our investigation progresses.

Portobello disturbance: Man arrested and charged

MAN TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a disturbance in the Portobello area of Edinburgh.

Around 10.55pm on Saturday, 12 April, 2025, police were called to Bath Street and Mentone Avenue.

Three males, one aged 17 and two aged 18, were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

The 21-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today – Tuesday, 15 April, 2025.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

Queensferry Road fatality: Man arrested and charged

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences following a fatal hit and run crash on the A90 Queensferry Road.

Around 11.15pm on Tuesday, 8 April, 2025, officers were made aware of a crash involving a Kawasaki KLE650 motorcycle and an unknown car.

Emergency services attended and the 61-year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car has since been traced and the 31-year-old man arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. Further enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
