Appeal for information following incidents of anti-social behaviour involving dirt bikes in Edinburgh

Officers in Edinburgh are appealing for information following a number of a calls regarding the dangerous use of dirt bikes in Edinburgh.

Over the course of Sunday, 17 August, 2025, multiple reports were received of the bikes being ridden in a reckless and in an anti-social manner in the areas of Calders, Juniper Green, Lanark Road, Broomhouse and Sighthill.

Sergeant Gillian Watson said: “The reckless use of dirt bikes not only endangers those riding them, but also members of the public.

“We have already seized four bikes and our enquiries are ongoing. We are keen to trace all of those who were riding in this dangerous manner.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have private CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, or who knows where these bikes are being stored, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Man arrested and charged following Calder Road drugs recovery

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the recovery of drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £347,760, in South West Edinburgh.

Around 12pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, officers acting on information received searched a flat in Calder Road where they found a cannabis cultivation.

The man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Child Assault: Image released

Police have released an image of a man who may be able to assist their enquiries into an assault of a child in Edinburgh that occurred at around 3.45pm on Tuesday 15 April 2025, on Cultins Road, Edinburgh.

The man pictured may be able to help with enquiries. He is described as a white, 5ft 7in tall, slim build, around 30 years old with blue/green eyes, short light brown hair a light beard. He was wearing a dark coloured zip-up bomber jacket with a hood, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms, and black and white trainers.

Constable Ross Murray said: “The man pictured is believed to have information that could help with our enquiries into this assault. If this is you, or you recognise the man, please get in touch.

“Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2191 of 15 April, 2025. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously.”

Missing teenager: Can you help?

Police are appealing for information to help trace a missing teenager last seen in the Calder Gardens area. Vo Van Tu (17) was last seen around 7.30am yesterday (Wednesday 21 April).

He is described as being Vietnamese, around 5ft 6, slim to medium build, with short dark hair. He is believed to be wearing a red puffer jacket and dark trousers.

Police are concerned for his wellbeing and are asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Inspector Caroline Flynn, from Drylaw Police Station, said: “We have growing concerns for Vo Van Tu’s wellbeing, partly due to his limited English and the length of time since he was last seen.

“If you believe you have seen him in Edinburgh, or may know his whereabouts, please contact police on 101, quoting incident 2896 of 21 April.”
