Witness appeal following Slateford robbery

POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery at a premises on Slateford Road.

The incident happened around 6.15am on Sunday (9 November), when a man entered a store and threatened a staff member and demanded money.

He made off in the direction of Gorgie Park Road with a four-figure sum of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as around 5ft 10ins, of slim build and spoke with an English accent.

He was wearing a royal blue fleece with grey side panels and grey cuffs and a black hoodie underneath, black Nike jogging bottoms with a double white stripe on the legs and dark-coloured trainers with a white sole and red flashes on the heel. His face was covered.

Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said: “Fortunately the staff member was not injured but he was left very upset by what happened.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone who saw what happened, saw the suspect or knows who he is to get in touch.

“Please also check any private CTV or dash-cam you might have and contact us if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”

Pedestrian critical following Ferrari collision

Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash in Stennhouse.

The incident happened around 8.50pm last night (Saturday, 25 October, 2025) on Stenhouse Drive, just west of its junction with Stenhouse Grove, and involved a red Ferrari 488 Spider and a pedestrian.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and reopened around 12.20am on Sunday, 26 October, 2025.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to assist.

Following enquiries, it is believed a white saloon type car was driving ahead of the Ferrari prior to the collision and may have witnessed what happened.

Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident to please contact us with any information that may assist.

“In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch.”

Pedestrian injured in Liberton Road hit and run

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Edinburgh.

Around 12.55pm on Wednesday, 22 October, a blue Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop for officers on Newington Road. A short pursuit took place before the car struck a pedestrian at the junction of Liberton Road and Gilmerton Road.

The vehicle failed to stop and continued south on Gilmerton Road and was later found abandoned a short distance away on Glenallan Drive.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment to serious injuries.

Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and trace those responsible.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw a blue Vauxhall Corsa in the area beforehand or afterwards, to come forward.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage that may assist our investigation.”

Police seek witnesses to serious assault at South Gyle Access

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault and collision involving a coach at South Gyle Access, Edinburgh.

The incident took place around 2.50pm yesterday – Tuesday, 21 October, 2025.

Enquiries have established that a 17-year-old male was approached by two males who had exited the No.22 bus. One of the males chased the victim into the road, where he was hit by a coach travelling in the opposite direction. The victim was then attacked whilst on the ground.

The victim was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged approximately 17, around 5ft 11 and slim build. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark beanie hat.

Detective Sergeant John Dunn said: “This was a violent, unprovoked attack and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to track down the male responsible.

“We believe there were members of the public who will have witnessed the incident and are yet to speak to police, so would encourage anyone with information to please come forward.

Police appeal for information following serious assault

POLICE are appealing for information following a serious assault in Edinburgh.

Around 3.30pm on Tuesday, 14 October, 2025 a 16-year-old boy was approached by two male-youths in Pentland View Park and seriously assaulted.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The first male youth is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with short black hair and clean shaven, wearing a grey tracksuit. The second is described as white, around 6ft tall, of slim build with short dark brown hair and clean shaven, wearing a black top and black shorts. Both are believed to be aged 17-18 years old.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

DC Beverley Burnside, Police Scotland, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and speak with officers.

“We are also appealing to anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

Police seek witnesses following serious crash on Annandale Street

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash involving a bus and a pedestrian.

The incident happened on Sunday, 28 September, 2025, at around 1.20am on Annandale Street, at the junction with Haddington Place.

An 81-year-old male pedestrian was involved in a collision with a bus as it travelled down Annandale Street.

The man was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service where he remains receiving treatment. There were no other reported injuries.

Sergeant Louise Birrell said: “This crash happened in the early hours of Sunday morning and despite the late time, I’m asking anyone who may have saw what happened to come forward.

“The pedestrian had travelled on foot from the top of Leith Walk and I’d ask anyone who may have seen him, or captured the incident on a dash-cam device, to check your systems and provide anything of relevance as soon as possible.”

Appeal after cyclist assaulted on Blackhall cycle path 

Police are appealing for information and witnesses, following the serious assault of a cyclist on Blackhall Cycle Path, near to Davidson Mains.

The incident took place around 6.05pm on Tuesday, 2 September, 2025. The cyclist, a 46-year-old man, was cycling away from the Drylaw area on his green vintage-style Dutch bike.

The suspect was riding an offroad dirt bike and is described as white, around 5ft 10 and slim build, but their gender is unknown. They were wearing a black full-face helmet and black puffer jacket.

Detective Sergeant Rob Finch said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area or witnessed this attack to please come forward.

“Enquiries have established that two members of the public provided aid to the victim, so would ask them to contact police as soon as possible.

Police appeal following fatal crash at Roslin Glen

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash which happened in Roslin, Midlothian.

The crash happened on the B7003 at Roslin Glen at around 6.50am on Thursday, 14 August, 2025 involving a black KTM 990 Super Duke motorcycle and grey Kia Sportage car.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man, was not injured. The road was closed for approximately six hours for collision investigation at the scene.

Road Policing Sergeant Phil Winning said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist who died following this crash.

“I am appealing for any motorist who was on the B7003 and who may have witnessed what happened or had a dashcam device fitted that may have captured the incident or the vehicles immediately prior to the collision.

“Anyone who can assist our enquiries should come forward as soon as possible.”

Leonardo Incident: Three women charged under the Terrorism Act 2000

Three women have been charged under the Terrorism Act 2000 after a van was driven into an external fence of a business premises in Edinburgh.

The incident happened during a disturbance in the Crewe Road North area of the city on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025.

The three women – aged 31, 34 and 42 – who were earlier arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 have been charged and are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow – Monday, 21 July, 2025.

Police Scotland’s Counter Terrorism Unit are leading the investigation and enquiries are ongoing.

As part of the investigation, officers are appealing for information to trace the movements of a blue Ford Transit van in the Gorgie Road area on Monday, 14 July, 2025 and prior to the incident on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025.

They are also keen to trace the movements of a white Honda CR-Z on these dates. It was recovered from a carpark in Gorgie Road following the incident.

Anyone who saw either vehicle in the area, or has any information, is asked to contact police.

If anyone was in the Crewe Road North or Gorgie Road areas and has any relevant dashcam footage or saw anything suspicious, please contact police on 101 quoting reference 0416 of 15 July.

Murrayburn Assault and Attempted Robbery: Do You Know This Man?

Police Scotland has released CCTV images of a man officers believe may be able to assist with an ongoing investigation into an attempted robbery and serious assault in Edinburgh.

The incident happened at around 10.35am on Sunday, 13 April, 2025, at Murrayburn Place.

The man officers wish to speak to is described as South Asian in appearance, 25 to 30 years old, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins with black hair and a black beard. He was wearing a black Puffa-style jacket, cream trousers and black footwear.

Detective Constable Beverley Burnside said: “We would appeal to the man in the images, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us as soon as possible.
