Man convicted of Grassmarket attacks

A man responsible for the attempted murder of two women and serious assault of one man has been convicted. 

At the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, Peter Cameron pled guilty to the attacks, on one of the female victims and the male victim. He was found guilty of the attack on the other woman. Continue reading Man convicted of Grassmarket attacks

Calton Hill death: 18 year old to appear in Court

An 18 year old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 15-year-old Willowbrae girl found dead on Calton Hill  on 8 December last year. He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later today.

Mhari O’Neill’s body was found by a member of the public at about 06:30 after she had been reported missing in the early hours of the Saturday morning.

Det Insp Susan Balfour, of Police Scotland, said: “Our sympathies remain with Mhari’s family at this time.

“We will now begin the work to prepare this case for court and I would like to thank all members of the public who came forward with information to assist the investigation.”
