Coats for Kids in Drylaw

● We all know how expensive winter coats can be 💷 and we all know how fast kids grow! 👶🧒

● The Tots and Tea Toddler Group within Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre are very proud to announce that we will be offering a winter swap shop for 2020. ❄🧥

● In order to make this a success, we are looking for donations of winter coats and jackets that no longer fit.

● We will collect and launder donations with an aim to open our swap shop late this year, just in time for the cold! ☃️🥶🧥❄

Any donations would be gratefully received and can be handed in to Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre.

Replica guns stolen in Easter Drylaw

Police are appealing for information after an incident in the early hours of yesterday morning, when three men forced their way into a property in Easter Drylaw and stole a number of replica toy guns.

The incident took place around 00.20am. The three men were all described as being average build and height and were wearing dark clothing, with masks and their hoods up.

No one was harmed as a result and the five toy firearms are not deemed to pose a risk to the public.

Detective Inspector Adam Brown, from Edinburgh City CID, said: “We are appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward and assist with our enquiries.

“While items such as these replica toy guns are commonplace, they could cause alarm if they’re seen being carried in public.

“The three men were seen running from the area with the guns in their hands, so if you saw this or anything suspicious, please get in touch. I’d also extend that request to anyone who has possibly been approached by individuals trying to sell replica weapons like this.”

Celebrate International Women’s Day at North Edinburgh Arts

SHE Scotland invite all women to our International Women’s Day event on Friday 6th March at North Edinburgh Arts.

We will be sharing our Ambassadors workshops and celebrating together. There will be a creche during the workshops.

We will also be opening the SHE Motherhood Exhibition by the fabulous SHE Photography.

Drylaw neighbours celebrate Lottery lift

Two people in Drylaw are celebrating today after winning £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.

The Easter Drylaw Drive neighbours netted the windfall when EH4 2QB was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery yesterday.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her well-wishes to the winners. She said: “What a great surprise to start the weekend! Congratulations to our winners!”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by the Wildlife Trusts which have received over £11.3 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The Wildlife Trusts look after more than 2,300 nature reserves and operate more than 100 visitor and education centres across the country. The Trusts work to make life better for wildlife, people and future generations.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can next apply for funding in August.
