On the buses: no laughing matter as Festival disruption looms
Unite Scotland is to hold a strike ballot at Lothian Buses. If the ballot is successful, action is likely to take place in August during the Edinburgh Fal Festival – traditionally the capital’s busiest month. The incident happened between 5.40pm and 6.20pm on Monday (11th February) on board the Number 22 Lothian Bus service from Ocean Terminal to The Gyle. Scotland on track to recruit 27,000 Modern Apprentices
The push by employers to recruit more apprentices is on track to deliver 27,000 new Modern Apprenticeship starts by the end of this year, the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has revealed. Buses back on: Lothian operating Sunday service
Lothian Buses is now operating a Sunday service. Buses began leaving garages into service from 10am and the full Sunday service is expected to be operational by midday.
Subject to weather conditions not worsening, Lothian Buses also plan to operate a Sunday service tomorrow, (Saturday 3rd March) but there will be NO night buses on service this weekendl.
A decision on Monday’s (5th March) service levels will be posted by 1200hrs on Sunday on the company’s website and social channels.
