Foodies Festivalgoers gear up for Bake Off with cupcake challenge from Home Store + More

Do you struggle to get an even bake or are you keen to shake up your showstopper?

As Channel 4’s Bake Off gears up for another tense ten weeks in the tent, local retailer Home Store + More will be hosting a series of Bake Off-style cupcake decorating challenges at this weekend’s Foodies Festival (2-4th August 2019).

In the beautiful surroundings of Inverleith Park, visitors to the event will be invited inside Home Store + More’s own ‘Bake Off’ gazebo to learn the art of creating the perfect cupcake. With inspirational ideas and store colleagues on hand to help, the family-friendly drop-in activity will be available throughout the Festival weekend.

Rachael Neill, store manager at Home Store + More’s Craigleith store, said: “Whatever the weather, at this year’s Festival we’re inviting guests to join us in our tent to create their own cupcake masterpiece.

“For bakers of all ages, we will have cakes ready to decorate throughout each day with a whole selection of tasty treats. So, whether you prefer a classic swirl, a unicorn horn or something that’s guaranteed a Hollywood handshake, everyone is sure to leave with a delicious treat.

Sausage and Cider Fest comes to Edinburgh for the first time! Expect a great array of amazing ciders and sausages to indulge in on Saturday 19th October 2019 at the amazing Corn Exchange, Edinburgh.

There will also be a huge variety of delicious sausages, definitely not the standard bangers you would find in your local supermarket. We source the finest butchers’ sausages and those with a little twist too!

Enjoy incredible live music with our in-house band and live DJ acts, whilst you are enjoying a pint or two of our many delicious craft ciders and beers on offer.

We love real cider and scour all corners of the UK looking for the finest cider money can buy – and bring it to your door for you to taste, savour and enjoy with your friends, alongside great sausages and fine music. Non-Cider Drinkers fear not, there’s not just Cider at this event! With a fantastic Craft Beer, Gin bar, Prosecco Bar and soft drinks available there really is something for everyone.

To spread the ‘feel-good’ factor of organic food far and wide, Organic UK is inviting people up and down the nation to ‘Wake Up to Organic’ and celebrate with a free organic mini breakfast.

On 12 June 2019, independent businesses in Edinburgh will be throwing open their doors for ‘Wake Up To Organic’, helping to spread the joy of organic food and encouraging people to feed their happy!

Up to 300 events across the country – in partnership with local cafes, delis, farm shops and independent stores – will celebrate organic food, showing just how easy it is to make the switch.

As well as helping you enjoy mini delicious organic breakfast treats, select stores will be taking their Wake Up to Organic events to the next level, offering a range of special activities – from cooking demonstrations to the opportunity to meet local farmers and producers.

By choosing organic you can rest easy knowing your food is produced to the highest standards with a host of great benefits:

RNLI Beer Launch!

St Andrews Brewing Company have announced the release of their newest beer, Above & Beyond, specially brewed in order to raise money for the RNLI. Ten pence from every pint sold and 5p from every can will be donated to the lifesaving charity.
