EVOC to host wellbeing drop-in on Carers Rights Day
EVOC will be marking Carers Rights Day on Friday 30th November from 11am – 3.30pm by hosting a drop-in wellbeing event for paid and unpaid carers across Edinburgh. Welcome cash boost for Scottish carers
More than 75,000 carers in Scotland have received the Carer’s Allowance Supplement.
Carers are getting an additional payment of £442 this financial year, in two payments of £221, equivalent of an extra £8.50 per week and an increase of 13% on the current Carer’s Allowance.

New singing group in Drylaw Church for people with dementia
I am a member of a small voluntary association and we have recently started running a new Singing Group for people with dementia their carers.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of each month from 2- 4 pm in Drylaw Parish Church and are actively seeking new members from the Drylaw area. The Group is open to anyone one with dementia, accompanied by a carer or escort.

Significant new rights improving support and recognition for unpaid cares have come into force. Under the Carers (Scotland) Act, all people who provide unpaid care for friends, family, and neighbours will now have the right to a personalised plan.
