With Edinburgh and the Borders set to host Stage One of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain, which takes place from the 3rd-10th September, take the time plan your vantage point. Tomorrow, riders will head from Edinburgh’s Royal Mile through East Lothian and into the Scottish Borders with the finish in Kelso.

Charity fundraising event at Festival Village

Residents and business-people from across Edinburgh and beyond are invited to come together for a special evening of food, drink and live music to raise money and awareness for local charities Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Kindred, and the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH). Pop-up venue Festival Village: Waverley, located on the roof of Waverley Mall, is hosting the charity event supported by AIB (GB) on Tuesday 5thSeptember from 5pm. We will not forget: design for second Mortonhall memorial unveiled

A bronze baby elephant sculpture has been chosen as the preferred memorial for Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens by parents affected by historic practices at Mortonhall Crematorium. The sculpture, which will be created by renowned Kelpies sculptor Andy Scott, will stand approximately two metres high and be embossed with a coat of forget-me-not flowers to reinforce that the city will not forget. First Minister is guest of honour at the Tattoo

First Minister Nicola  Sturgeon was the guest of honour at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo last night. Ms Sturgeon participated in the opening ceremony with a traditional Gaelic Toast taken with the evening’s Lone Piper, Cpl Joey Davies from The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
