Cervical Cancer campaign to hit the road this summer

Shoppers on Scotland’s high streets and retail parks will learn about the symptoms of cervical cancer in a nationwide campaign this summer. The £100,000 ‘Be Cervix Savvy’ campaign will tour Scotland from mid-June, with volunteers from Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust raising awareness of the signs of the disease. SOCLAB set to counter cyber security threats

Industry guests have been given a preview of a new cyber security centre which will allow companies to train staff to combat potentially crippling attacks. The SOCLAB centre at Edinburgh Napier’s Cyber Academy will let workers get to grips with threats like ransomware, which saw NHS systems infected with malicious software last year, in a safe and isolated environment. Royal Wedding invite for lifesaver Lynn

The driving force behind a life-saving project to install public access defibrillators in Edinburgh has been invited to the Royal Wedding. Lynn Cleal, who leads the St John and the City project on behalf of St John Scotland, has helped the charity install more than 135 defibrillators across the city, some of which have already saved lives. EDINBURGH CLOWNDOCTORS CHARITY AWARDED £12,720 FROM SCOTTISH CHILDREN’S LOTTERY

Edinburgh based charity Hearts & Minds has been awarded a £12,720 grant from the Scottish Children’s Lottery. The funding will support the charity’s specialist arts-in-health programme, Clowndoctors, which operates in hospitals, hospices and schools for children with additional complex support needs across Scotland.
