The safety of communities across Scotland has been bolstered thanks to a multi-million pound investment in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s front line. Four Aerial Ladder Platforms (ALPs) and a Turntable Ladder appliance (TTL) were unveiled yesterday in a spectacular convoy that set-off from Edinburgh’s George IV Bridge under a police escort. “None the wiser”: Green MSP concern over flight path plans confusion

Communities affected by Edinburgh Airport’s flight plan proposals must rally together to make the airport listen to their concerns, a Green MSP will tell a summit meeting at Holyrood tonight. Green MSP Mark Ruskell is hosting the Edinburgh Airport Watch meeting at the Scottish Parliament where 17 community councils from Fife, Edinburgh, the Lothians and Falkirk are expected to attend.

From Ice Cream Ale to Flying Pandas: Stewart Brewing announce collaboration brews

Stewart Brewing – who play host to the Edinburgh Beer Festival on Saturday 13 May – has announced several limited-edition collaboration beers that will be available at the festival this year, including an ice cream style ale with Over Langshaw Farmhouse Ice Cream and a kiwi hopped double IPA in partnership with local brewer Cross Borders. More than a feast …

The Millennium Centre’s outside catering team swung into action for our local church (Old Kirk & Muirhouse) at the weekend, creating a cold buffet to cater for 60 (writes James McGinty).

Originally prepared for Saturday, there was enough to serve the Sunday congregation next day!  John, Chris and Dale were responsible for this ongoing service to the community.
