Have you seen Guy?

Officers are asking for the help of the public to trace a 60-year-old man reported missing from Edinburgh.

Guy Bargery was last seen around 9.15am yesterday (Monday, 27 January, 2025), in the Dundas Street area.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with grey/white hair.

When last seen, Guy was wearing a checked green and cream shirt, denim jeans, a beige jacket, and is believed to have been wearing black trainers. He may be driving his grey Volvo XC60 with registration SK13 VPZ, and travelled to the Fife area.

Inspector Jonathan Wilson said: “It is important that we make sure Guy is safe and well, as there are growing concerns for his welfare.

“We urge anyone who has seen Guy, his car, or has any information on his whereabouts to please contact us as soon as possible.”

UPDATE on Tuesday 28 January at 8pm

Officers searching for a 60-year-old man missing from Edinburgh have traced his car near St Madoes, in Perth.

Guy Bargery was last seen around 9.15am on Monday, 27 January, 2025, in the Dundas Street area of Edinburgh.

Enquiries have been ongoing to trace him and his grey Volvo was traced in the Chapelhill near St Madoes around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 28 January, 2025.

Searches are being carried out in the area and officers are continuing to appeal for the help of the public to trace Guy.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with grey/white hair.

When last seen, Guy was wearing a checked green and cream shirt, denim jeans, a beige jacket, and is believed to have been wearing black trainers.

Inspector James Longden said: “It is important that we make sure Guy is safe and well, as there are growing concerns for his welfare.

“His vehicle has been traced in Chapelhill near St Madoes and that is where our searches are being focussed.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Guy, or who has any information on his whereabouts to please contact us as soon as possible.”

Have you seen Marius?

POLICE are appealing to trace 33-year-old Marius Thuemmler who is missing from Leith.

Marius was visiting relatives in Edinburgh and was due to travel from Leith to Wester Hailes yesterday. He did not arrive, however, and as a result police were contacted.

Marius is quite distinctive in that he is 6ft 4 in height, has long dark blond hair, a beard and moustache, and numerous tattoos of various designs on his arms.

He is believed to be wearing black jeans, a black hooded top with a t-shirt underneath, and white and green trainers.

Inspector Kenny Robertson, Police Scotland, said: “Marius lives in England and was up visiting relatives over Christmas and New Year. Although he is familiar with Edinburgh, as he doesn’t stay here, he doesn’t have places that he tends to visit regularly.

“We have been checking CCTV and liaising with local bus and taxi companies, as well with as colleagues in British Transport Police, but so far there has been no sightings of him.

“We’d ask anyone who may have seen him, or who knows where he may be to get in touch. We’d also say to Marius to give us a call or return to family. We all want to make sure he is safe and well.”

Police: Have you seen Henry?

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for assistance in tracing Henry Hunter (51yrs) who has been reported missing from Lothian Road area.

Henry was last seen about 1330 hours 21/10/24 in Craigour Place, Edinburgh. Henry’s current whereabouts are unknown and family are becoming increasingly concerned.

Henry is described as being a white male, 6ft tall, stocky build, balding with a short fair / grey stubble beard and habitually wears glasses.

He was last known to be wearing a grey wool flat / penny cap, blue shirt, and black jacket, black trousers, black business shoes.

He was driving a Black Toyota Coupe registration number BG62ZPN.

Inspector Stephen Quinn from Howdenhall Police station says “Henry has been missing for a number of days now, and his family are understandably worried about him.

“We have a number of police resources out looking for him and I am now looking for the assistance from the public in tracing both Henry and the vehicle he was driving. “

Police: Have you seen Rory?

POLICE are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing 20 year old Rory Dowling-Clarke, who has been reported missing from Granton, Edinburgh.

Rory was last seen at 2pm on Monday 29th July, 2024 in the Granton area and is thought to have since been in Leith and the City centre.

Have you seen Michael?

POLICE are appealing for the assistance of the public in sharing our appeal and tracing 79-year-old Michael Connolly who is missing from Seton Sands Holiday Park.

Michael, who is from Lochore, was last seen at the park around 6pm last night (Wednesday, 26 June, 2024).

He is described as around 5ft 8ins in height and of slim build with grey hair which is balding and stubble. When he was last seen he was wearing a blue jumper and blue t-shirt with black trousers and walking shoes.

Inspector Kenny McKenzie said: “We are extremely concerned for Michael’s safety and wellbeing.

“Searches and enquiries are ongoing to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

“I would urge anyone who has seen him or has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible on 101 quoting reference number 3275 of 26 June.”

Concern over missing man

UPDATE: 72-year-old Gary Hardie missing from Edinburgh has been traced.

POLICE are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 72-year-old man missing from Edinburgh.

Gary Hardie, was last seen in the Mountcastle Loan area at around 6.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, 19 June, 2024).

He is described as being around 5ft 8in in height, of stocky build with white hair. When last seen he was wearing a beige jacket with a light brown leather collar, blue jeans and light brown loafers.

He is known to frequent the Drylaw area.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: “Gary is vulnerable and concerns are growing for his welfare. Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who has seen Gary or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us.”

Missing Man: Body found near Forth

Around 4.35pm on Sunday (5th May 2024), the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area near Forth in Lanarkshire.

Formal identification is still to take place however the family of Robert Dickson (above), who had been reported missing from Edinburgh, have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

POLICE are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 35-year-old man reported missing in Edinburgh.

Robert Dickson was last seen in the Halmyre Street area around 12.30pm yesterday – Saturday, 4 May, 2024.

He is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, of slim to medium build with short, light brown hair. He wears glasses.

When last seen he was wearing a grey tracksuit top, dark trousers and brown boots.

Concerns are growing for Robert’s welfare and enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

Officers are appealing to anyone who has seen Robert or who has any information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

Missing: Have you seen Kevin?

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for assistance in tracing Kevin Sweeney (33yrs) who has been reported missing from the Leith area of the City.

Kevin was last seen on 7th January 2024 in Pilrig Street, Edinburgh. His current whereabouts are unknown and we are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

Kevin is described as being male, white, 5ft 9 tall, average build with an auburn beard and short fair hair.
