POLICE are asking for your help to trace a 13-year-old boy reported missing in Drylaw. Ahmad Bader was last seen at Broughton High School around 12 pm yesterday (Thursday, 30th November).
He has links throughout the Edinburgh area.

POLICE are appealing for your help to trace Dean Campbell aged 10 who was last seen at Forthview Primary School, West Pilton Place, Edinburgh, around 10am yesterday (Wednesday 23 August 2023).
Dean is described as white, 4ft tall, slim build with short blond hair.
When last seen he was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with yellow markings, a white polo shirt and black trainers.
Sergeant Michael Thomson said: “There are growing concerns for Dean’s welfare. Anyone who may have seen Dean since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 1065 of 23 August 2023.”
UPDATE: POLICE HAVE REPORTED THAT JAMIE HAS BEEN TRACED
POLICE are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace a child reported missing in Edinburgh.
There are growing concerns for the 12-year-old, who lives in the Howden Hall area. .
Jamie is described as, 5 ft 5 inches tall, slim build, short fair blonde hair, Navy tracksuit, white Adidas trainers and trainers.
Jamie has been missing for some time, and concerns are growing for his welfare.
Jamie McEwan has links to the Drylaw area where he may have travelled by bus.
Anyone who may have seen Jamie or who has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3323 of 11/05/20223
Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses to help trace a 13 year old boy. Ronin Bisset was reported missing by family at 6pm yesterday ( Thursday 18 September) after he failed to return home from The Royal High School.
Ronin was last seen by friends earlier at 5.30pm, on Quality Street, heading into Davidson’s Mains Park, believed to be heading home.
He is described as male, white, 5ft 6in tall, stocky build, short dark hair, glasses, black school jacket, white shirt and black trousers with a bright yellow and black school bag.
Chief Inspector Graham McInarlin who is leading the enquiry said: “Ronin has now been missing overnight, and as time passes we are becoming increasingly concerned for this 13 year-old school boy. I would appeal to anyone who has seen Ronin in the Davidson’s Mains area or further afield, or has any information relating to his whereabouts, to contact us immediately on 101, to assist our enquiries”.
Officers are involved in searches of the area and enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone who has information or has seen Ronan should contact Police Scotland on 101.
Woman – believed to be mother – detained
A body, believed to be that of three year old Mikaeel Kular, has been found in Fife. The news came just before midnight and police also confirmed that a woman – reported to be the boy’s mother – has been detained.
Late last night senior police officer Assistant Chief Constable Malcolm Graham, clearly distraught, broke the news that everyone had dreaded – but had increasingly anticipated.
ACC Graham said: “The investigation into the disappearance of Mikaeel Kular has been wide-ranging and fast-moving.
“As a result of these inquiries I can confirm that we have recovered the body of a young boy in Fife shortly before midnight. We have informed the family and the investigation continues.
“A person has been detained in connection with the death.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has shown such a fantastic response to the incident in terms of assisting the police with searches and in terms of our appeals for information and coming forward to assist with information.
“Without such vital assistance the police cannot do their job assisting those who live and work in our communities.
“As a result of this development clearly there will now be no requirement for any further help in relation to searches in the Drylaw area.”
For three days of his short life Mikaeel has been the most famous wee boy on the planet, and information about just how, when and why an innocent three year old lost his life will follow over the coming days.
For now, though, North Edinburgh will slowly get back to mundane, everyday life. Instead of joining mass searches, residents will be shopping, going to football games, cleaning windows and a hundred and one other humdrum activities. North Local Office and West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre will return to the normal routine.
But, with the eyes of the world on our neighbourhood, the North Edinburgh community can be very proud of it’s magnificent response to an appeal for help. It’s deeply sad that such an uplifting community effort was unable to help achieve the happy ending we’d all hoped so much to see.
And after Mikaeel, North Edinburgh will never be quite the same place again.
