Healthy start: more babies breastfed for longer
A new report has revealed that mothers across Scotland are breastfeeding their infants for longer. The Scottish Maternal and Infant Nutrition Survey found 43% of mums are continuing to breastfeed up to six months after birth, compared to 32% in 2010. British Sign Language (BSL) engagement event this Saturday
Do you use or know someone who uses British sign language?
Are you a parent/carer of a deaf child?
Or are you a BSL/English interpreter?
We want to get your views about improving access to services from councils, NHS Lothian, and other public organisations. This will help us develop plans in Edinburgh and the Lothians which are linked to the BSL Act.

There’s been a change of plan for this month’s community council meeting. Helen Scammell, Co-Director of Pilton Community Health Project (PCHP) was due to address the meeting but she has had to reschedule due to inforeseen circumstances – Helen will now attend our April meeting.
I am now looking for a speaker for February meeting.

Pennywell All Care Centre: what’s in that shiny new building?
Pennywell All Care Centre (formerly North West Partnership Centre) opened to the public on 18th December and will be officially opened later this month. The new Centre will provide a range of health and social care services, including new GP accommodation (Muirhouse Medical Group has opened a new branch surgery to complement their Muirhouse Avenue practice), podiatry and child health services.
