A lovely evening to enjoy together and celebrate Scotland’s national poet.

New Youth Group at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre

New youth group starting at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre next Wednesday (14th January) between 4pm – 5pm.

This is open to any young people aged 8 – 12 who are struggling with socialising or confidence, whether that be due to learning disabilities, mental health or other factors.

We are holding our annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 2nd December at 3.30 – 4.30pm.

Please do come along to hear about exciting plans for the future of our lovely centre, and to make your views known.

We are very interested in your vision for the future and the directions we can take.

There’s been some good news to round off this special 30th anniversary year for Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre.

The Centre has just been awarded over £3500 from Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership’s Community Grants Fund to pilot a 6 month Monday Café offering free breakfasts, training opportunities, and monthly community lunches to reduce food poverty, build social connections and strengthen community use of the centre.

We’re putting together a fantastic festive tombola for our Festive Fayre on Friday 28th November and are looking for prize donations – bottles, new gifts, chocolates, or other goodies.

Tram extension: Have Your Say

TUESDAY 28th OCTOBER 4 – 7pm DRYLAW NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE

A public consultation on the future development of Edinburgh’s tram network is running until 17 November 2025.

The proposed new tram route would run from Granton to the Edinburgh BioQuarter and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and potentially beyond into the city region and the project is keen to hear views from local people.

Members of the project team will be at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre on Tuesday 28 October 2025 from 4pm – 7pm to answer your questions.

Many hands make light work at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre

Big shout out and thanks to The Edinburgh Tool Library for bringing staff and volunteers here on Saturday to build stuff for the Neighbourhood Centre.

Also thanks to Andy and Matthew who are DNC volunteers for giving up their Saturday to help.

As you can see from the photos we built a massive planter 4.8m x 1.6m and put up some funky shutters on our summerhouse.

Last year the summerhouse came under regular attack by apples being thrown at it. Hopefully our new shutters mean little damage can be done should apples again find themselves on a flight path towards the summerhouse!
