Good sports: medals all round at Spartans mini-Olympics

More than 200 local primary school children took part in a 14-sport ‘Mini-Olympics’ at Spartans Community Football Academy’s Ainslie Park home yesterday. The pupils aged 10-12 enjoyed rugby, cycling, athletics, football, and relay races as part of a programme to help introduce young people to sport and the psychological and physiological benefits it brings. Drop-inThe third in our block of four FIX IT sessions takes place
this Saturday between 10.30am – 12noon.

Come along and learn, or practice, patching jeans by hand and by machine. Sally will show you how you can use patching and stitching to personalise jeans.

Bring your own jeans along to work on,
patching materials will be provided

*If you have children aged 5-12 years and would like to join in, you can drop them off at the NEA Saturday Art and Dance programme which runs 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Autistic children could soon receive the benefits of equine therapy from the comfort of their own home thanks to a unique chair design by an Edinburgh Napier student. Fourth year Callum Hunter has designed ‘U Rock’ – a therapy chair that replicates the movement of a horse when walking – as part of his final year project at the University.
