Public Health Minister Aileen Campbell visited Pilton Community Health Project today ahead of the Scottish Government’s consultation on the diet and obesity strategy. She joined a mum and dad’s cooking class which aims to get parents and children to cook together, increase their confidence and cooking skills and promote healthy eating on a budget. Neighbourhood Partnership meetings are taking place in August
With the ongoing rollout of new Localities community planning structures across the city, the future of Neighbourhood Partnerships has been in some doubt but they are back for now – at least until a suitable replacement can be agreed.
Neighbourhood Partnership meetings are open to the public, so take the opportunity to hear discussions and decisions about Local Community Grant Fund applications, North West Locality Improvement Planning, participate in the popular ‘question time’ session and more.
There are four Neighbourhood Partnerships within the new North West Locality and each of these will meet in August. Dates are:
Forth Neighbourhood Partnership
Tuesday 15 August at Royston Wardieburn Community Centre, 6.30-8.30pm
Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership
Monday 21 August at Stockbridge Library, 6.30-8.30pm.
Almond Neighbourhood Partnership
Wed 23 August at Rosebery Hall, South Queensferry, 6.30-8.30pm.
Western Neighbourhood Partnership
Thursday 31 August Drumbrae Hub, 6.30-8.30pm.

West Pilton West Granton Community Council gets together again after the summer break with a meeting on Tuesday 1 August at 7pm in West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre.
An agenda and minutes will be available on the night. All welcome.
We have been working with the West Pilton Parklife Friends of the Park group to develop a number of activities this summer. These include family fitness activities starting Thursday27th July which involve hula hopping, fun bootcamp and family yoga sessions.
There will also be a Herbal Garden tidy up and a Herbal Medicine workshop which will involve local families working around the footprint area on Sunday 30th July. A regular bootcamp will be starting on Thursday 17th August and will continue until the October holidays and then run for a further 6 sessions. For more information contact info@elgt.org.uk
