National Awards for local youth projects

Two local projects have scooped awards at this year’s National Youth Work Awards. Spartans Community Football Academy picked up the National Raising Attainment Award for their work with vulnerable youngsters in North Edinburgh, while the Action for Children Heritage and Inclusion Project has won the National Equality and Diversity Award, sponsored by BBC Children in Need. Voluntary Sector Forum meets on Monday

Forth & Inverleith Voluntary Sector Forum meeting will take place on:

Monday 18th March, 9.30 – 11.30am

at Royston Wardieburn Community Centre

Among agenda items to be discussed will be the possible withdrawal of EVOC’s  support of the city’s Voluntary Sector Forums.

There will also be an update on the ongoing funding crisis faced by local projects.

Tom Kitchin to visit PCHP this morning

Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin is calling in to PCHP on Boswall Parkway this morning to show his support for Scotland’s oldest community health project.

Tom is supporting PCHP’s crowdfunding initiative with some tasty offers to tempt donors:

  • First person to donate £1000 or more receives the Chef’s surprise Tasting Menu for two people, with matching wines, at Michelin star restaurant The Kitchin, 78 Commercial Quay, Leith
  • First person to donate £250 or more receives 6 oysters and 2 glasses of champagne at Southside Scran 14-17 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh
  • First person to donate £200 or more receives personalised and signed copies of each of Tom Kitchin’s cookbooks; From Nature to Plate, Kitchin Suppers, Meat & Game, Fish & Shelfish
