Police Scotland is appealing for the public’s assistance to help trace a 35-year-old woman reported missing from Edinburgh.

Margaret Ross was last seen in the Moredun area in the early hours of Tuesday, 8 April, 2025, and is believed to have possibly travelled towards the Little Frances Crescent area of the city.

She has links to Craigmillar and Moredun, and is also known to frequent the city centre.

Margaret is described as white, around 5ft 4 in height, of medium build with long fair/blonde hair. When last seen, she was wearing a pink t-shirt, black jacket, jeans and black trainers.

Sergeant Craig Darling said: “We are concerned for Margaret’s welfare and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen her to please contact police immediately”.

Appeal to trace woman reported missing in the Penicuik area

POLICE are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 29-year-old woman reported missing from the Penicuik area.

Toni McNelis was last seen around midnight on Friday, 14 March, in the Edinburgh Road area of the town.

She has been spoken to on the phone by officers, however there are still concerns and we need to trace her.

Toni is described as being around 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with long blonde hair. It is not known what she was wearing.

She may have travelled to the Glasgow area and also has links to Edinburgh.

Inspector Carlyn Simpson, Dalkeith Police Station, said: “We are concerned for Toni’s welfare and are asking anyone who knows where she might be to come forward.

“Her family and friends are extremely worried and just want to know she is safe and well.

“I would also appeal directly to Toni – if you see this, please get in touch.”

Have you seen Toni? Appeal to trace woman reported missing in Penicuik

Police in Midlothian are appealing for the public’s help to trace 29-year-old Toni McNelis, who has been reported missing from Penicuik.

Toni was last seen around midnight on Friday, 14 March, in the Edinburgh Road area of the town.

She is described as being around 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with long blonde hair. It is not known what she was wearing.

Toni may have travelled to the Glasgow area and also has links to Edinburgh.

Constable Stuart Neal said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Toni’s welfare and are working to trace her as soon as possible.

“Her family and friends are extremely worried and just want to know she is safe and well.

“Anyone who has seen Toni or knows where she might be to contact police as soon as possible.

“I would also appeal directly to Toni – if you see this, please get in touch to let us know you’re okay.”

Have you seen Maisy?

POLICE are appealing for help to trace 21-year-old Maisy Williams who has been reported missing in Edinburgh.

Maisy was last seen in the Tipperlinn Road area around 12.30pm TODAY – Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.

She is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, with black, shoulder length hair. Maisy was last seen wearing black trousers, a black hoodie, a black beanie hat, and red trainers.

Inspector Paul Begley said: “Enquiries to trace Maisy are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen her to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information on where Maisy may be is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1211 of 7 January, 2025.”

Police issue renewed appeal: Can you help trace Santra Saju?

One week on from Police Scotland’s initial appeal, officers in Edinburgh are continuing their enquiries to trace Santra Saju, who is missing from the South Gyle area.

Santra, 22, was last known to be at the Asda store in Almondvale, Livingston, on Friday, 6 December, 2024, between 9.10pm and 9.45pm, after having been in the Burnvale area earlier that evening around 8.30pm.

She is described as being around 5ft 6 inches in height, of Indian ethnicity, of slim build, with short black hair. She was wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, beige furry earmuffs and a black facemask.

Enquiries have also revealed she had a black rucksack in her possession.

Her family have released the following statement: “It has been more than two weeks since Santra was last seen and we are worried sick, this is very out of character. We are desperate to know where she is and that she is safe.

“Santra, if you see this please call us or reach out to someone to let them know that you are safe.

“We urge anyone who may have seen Santra, or who has any information at all that might help trace her to contact police as soon as possible.”

Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton said: “As time passes, concerns for Santra’s wellbeing continue to grow, and we are conducting extensive enquiries in the Burnvale and surrounding areas to trace her.

“We know that Santra frequently wears a black face mask and believe she was wearing beige fluffy earmuffs when last seen. We also know that she picked up a black and white shopper-style bag from an address in Burnvale on Friday evening, but this was no longer in her possession when she entered the supermarket.

“We are continuing to review CCTV footage and conducting searches of the area. We urge anyone who may have seen Santra or someone matching her description to contact us immediately.”

Missing woman Santra Saju last seen at Almondvale

POLICE in Edinburgh are continuing to appeal for information to help trace 22-year-old Santra Saju missing from the South Gyle area.

Enquiries have confirmed that Santra was in Asda at Almondvale, Livingston on Friday, 6 December 2024 between 9.10pm and 9.45pm. She had previously been in the Burnvale area of Livingston around 8.30pm the same evening.

Santra is described as 5ft 6 inches, of Indian ethnicity, slim build, with short black hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur hood.

Inspector Alison Lawrie from Corstorphine Police Station said: “We now know that Santra picked up a black and white shopper style bag from an address in Burnvale on Friday evening, but she did not have it when she entered the supermarket. The bag is distinctive and someone may remember seeing her carrying it.

“We are continuing to review CCTV footage and have released images of Santra from the supermarket in the hope that someone recognises her.

“Extensive enquiries are being carried out in an effort to trace her. If you have any information please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3390 of Sunday, 15 December 2024.”

Have you seen Sophie?

Officers are appealing for the assistance of the public to trace a 19-year-old woman missing from Edinburgh.

Sophie Webster was last seen leaving a property in the Dryden Street area of Edinburgh around 2.45pm this afternoon, on Friday, 6 September, 2024.

She is described as being around 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and has short hair with blonde highlights. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a white “BB” logo on the chest, black shorts with a white logo on the left leg, white trainers and was carrying a blue rucksack.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Sophie’s welfare and we are asking anyone who has seen her or knows where she is to get in touch.”

Khasha: The search continues

Officers conducting enquiries to locate missing woman Khasha Smith began searching in an area off Calder Road in Edinburgh today (Wednesday, 4 September, 2024).

The work includes specialist search trained officers as part of the investigation to locate Khasha who went missing almost a year ago, aged 35.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out but Khasha is still a missing person. We are continuing to support her family throughout this time.

Khasha was last seen to be safe and well on Tuesday, 10 October, 2023. She has never gone missing before. She is around 5ft, of slim build, with blue eyes and long, blonde hair.

She also has tattoos, one which is visible on her right wrist and says ‘Forever’.

Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson said: “We continue to follow up several lines of enquiry and are working to find answers for Khasha’s family.

“As with every missing person inquiry, all aspects of Khasha’s life have been, and continue to be, explored. We know she would never miss events such as her daughter’s birthday and Christmas, and we have to consider the possibility that she may have come to harm.

“We are constantly evaluating and exploring all the information we have and remain open minded. We are doing everything we can to find her.”

POLICE UPDATE: 7 February, 2.53pm:

A woman’s body has been recovered from the sea at Gullane, East Lothian. The woman has been confirmed as Alison Campbell missing from Edinburgh.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

POLICE are appealing for help to trace Alison Campbell, 50, who has been reported missing from Edinburgh.

Alison was last seen leaving a property in Murrayfield Avenue around 3.10am this morning (Tuesday, 6 February), and drove off in her red Toyota Aygo.

She is described as 5ft3, of very slim build, with straight shoulder length brown hair.

She is believed to be wearing a navy blue puffer jacket, a bright pink knitted scarf and black leather ankle boots. She normally wears a gold ring with a black onyx stone on her right hand.

Officers have traced Alison’s car in the Cramond beach area and a search is ongoing there.

Inspector Dougal Begg said: “Alison’s family are extremely concerned about her wellbeing and we are asking members of the public to keep a look out and report any sightings to police.

“Officers and the Coastguard are carrying out searches in the Cramond beach area and would urge anyone who has been there today to consider whether they may have seen a woman matching Alison’s description.
