POLICE are appealing for the public’s help as part of their efforts to trace Plamen Todorov (22) reported missing from Edinburgh.

Plamen was last seen leaving his work on Lothian Road at around 11.30pm on Thursday night (14th July, 2022). He has not been seen since and there are concerns for his welfare.

Plamen is described as a white male, slim build, around 5ft 5inches, with short dark hair and slight facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, beige trousers/chinos, a large yellow rucksack and was seen with a grey and red mountain bike.

Anyone who may have seen Plamen, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2518 of 15th July 2022.

Missing man update

POLICE STATEMENT

Around 10.45am yesterday (Tuesday 12 July, 2022), the body of a man was located within a wooded area near Dunsapie Loch in Holyrood Park,

A formal identification has still to take place, however, the family of 33-year-old Douglas Bramley, who was reported missing from Edinburgh on Sunday, 10 July, 2022, have been informed and are currently being supported by police.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course, however, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace Douglas Bramley, who has been reported missing in Edinburgh.

There are growing concerns for the 33-year-old, who lives in Edinburgh area and was last seen near the Grange area around 9pm on Sunday, 10 July.

Douglas is described as white, 6ft in height, slim build, with short dark brown hair and facial stubble. He is wearing jeans and a black T shirt.

Anyone who may have seen Douglas, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2234 of 11 July

Missing man: Have you seen James?

Police have released an updated image as part of their ongoing appeal for the public’s help to trace a 53-year-old man reported missing from the Wester Hailes area.

There are growing concerns for James Allan who was last seen in Hailesland Grove about 5.30pm on Thursday (26th May 2022).

James is described as white, around 5ft 10ins, with long black hair. When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, brown jumper and black jeans.

Inspector Caroline Flynn, from Wester Hailes Police Station, said “Given the passage of time since James was last seen, we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Anyone who may have seen James, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0448 of Friday, 27 May, 2022.

“Similarly if James sees this appeal I would ask him to get in touch to let us know he is safe.”

Missing man Stuart Campbell: Police issue renewed appeal

Police investigating the disappearance of Stuart Campbell have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Stuart (36) was last seen in the Barn Park area of Wester Hailes, around 4pm on Tuesday, 22 March, 2022. It has now been four weeks since he went missing.

Stuart’s mother Jane said : “Stuart, if you are reading this please get in touch. All your family and friends are worried about you and want you home safe.

“If anyone has seen Stuart or knows where he is please get in touch with myself or the police.

“It’s been nearly four weeks now and we all want you home safe and well.”

Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton, Area Commander for South West Edinburgh said : “Over the last four weeks local officers supported by specialist teams from Police Scotland have continued to search for Stuart.

“We are increasingly concerned for his well-being and have carried out open searches in Barn Park, Clovenstone, Union Canal, Water of Leith and Colinton Dell in effort to trace him and further searches are continuing in the surrounding areas.

“Officers are also carrying out further house to house enquiries and have been asking residents in Wester Hailes if they have any information that could assist them with their enquiries. We are also identifying further CCTV opportunities in the area and in particular would welcome assistance from local businesses or residents who may have private CCTV.

“Stuart is described as being 5ft 10in tall, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, green hooded top with white ties and grey jogging bottoms.

“Anyone who knows where Stuart is or who has information that could assist in tracing him should call 101 quoting 1205 of 28 March or speak to any police officer.”

Walter Anderson: body found

Around 9.50pm last night (Saturday, 4 September, 2021) police were called after the body of a man was discovered in the river at the rear of Harlaw Road in Balerno.

The deceased has been formally identified as Walter Anderson (84) who had been reported missing from the Edinburgh area.

His relatives are aware.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The media and members of the public are thanked for their support during the police investigation.

UPDATE: SUNDAY 5 SEPTEMBER

I am sad to report that Police have confirmed that a body discovered in a river behind houses in Harlaw Road in Balerno last night is that of Walter Anderson.

There are no supsicious circumstances and Walter’s family have been informed.

THE MISSING PERSON STORY …

Police are appealing for help to trace an elderly man reported missing in the city. Walter Anderson (84), was last seen in the Clovenstone Drive area around 11pm on Thursday (2 September 2021).

He has not been seen or heard from since and there is growing concern for his welfare.

Walter is described as 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with brown hair which is partially balding and wears glasses. He is possibly wearing a short navy blue jacket.He is known to frequent the west side of Edinburgh.

Inspector Claire Masterton, of Edinburgh Drylaw Station, said: “Walter has Alzheimers so he may appear confused or lost. We are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and are keen to find him as soon as possible.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen Walter to contact us as soon as possible.”Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1204 of 3 September.

UPDATE

Officers are carrying out enquiries in the Currie area of Edinburgh following a sighting of Walter walking Westwards on Lanark Road West on CCTV images around 5am on Friday, 3 September, 2021.

UPDATE 2:

Following further enquiries, the most recent sighting of Walter Anderson is now of him walking on Bavelaw Road in the Balerno area of Edinburgh around 7am on Friday, 3 September.

He remains missing and enquiries are ongoing to trace him.Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1204 of 3 September.

Missing: Brian Garrity is HOME

UPDATE: Brian’s family has reported that he is home safe and well

Police are appealing for the public’s help as part of their efforts to trace a 49 year old man reported missing in Edinburgh. Brian Garrity was last seen in the Crewe Road area at around 9.30am yesterday (Monday 21 June) and there are concerns for his welfare.

Brian is described as 6ft 2in, medium build with short greying hair. He was wearing a black Lyle & Scott jacket, navy Nike jogging bottoms and navy & yellow Adidas trainers. He walks with a slight limp.

Anyone who may have seen Brian since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3811 of 21/06/2021.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police Scotland is appealing for information to trace a vulnerable man missing from Edinburgh. Peter MacQuarie, 65, was last seen around 4.50pm today, Wednesday, 26 May, in Hayfield, East Craigs.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10, bald with a short grey beard and moustache. When he was last seen he was wearing a grey jacket, green jumper, black jeans, brown shoes and a blue beanie hat.

Inspector Caroline Flynn, Drylaw Police Office, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Peter as this is out of character for him and just want to know he is okay. He is very vulnerable, can get confused and is unsteady on his feet.

“He does not have a mobile phone with him, however does have a bus pass. When he travels, he tends to take the bus and has been known to take the number 31 bus towards the Bonnyrigg area.

“We are working with the relevant travel companies, and checking CCTV, to see if he has travelled, however would appeal for anyone who may have seen a man matching his description to get in touch with us.”

Missing teenager: Can you help?

Police are appealing for information to help trace a missing teenager last seen in the Calder Gardens area. Vo Van Tu (17) was last seen around 7.30am yesterday (Wednesday 21 April).

He is described as being Vietnamese, around 5ft 6, slim to medium build, with short dark hair. He is believed to be wearing a red puffer jacket and dark trousers.

Police are concerned for his wellbeing and are asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Inspector Caroline Flynn, from Drylaw Police Station, said: “We have growing concerns for Vo Van Tu’s wellbeing, partly due to his limited English and the length of time since he was last seen.

“If you believe you have seen him in Edinburgh, or may know his whereabouts, please contact police on 101, quoting incident 2896 of 21 April.”
