Police appeal following fatal road crash on Cramond Road South

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Edinburgh last night (Wednesday, 3 September, 2025).

Around 10.05pm, officers received a report that a Vauxhall Corsa had crashed on Cramond Road South.

Emergency services attended, however, the 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Paul Ewing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“As our enquiries continue, I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this crash to contact us. I would also urge anyone who was in the area who has dash-cam or personal footage to please review it and get touch if it holds anything which may be relevant.”

Police appeal following fatal crash at Roslin Glen

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash which happened in Roslin, Midlothian.

The crash happened on the B7003 at Roslin Glen at around 6.50am on Thursday, 14 August, 2025 involving a black KTM 990 Super Duke motorcycle and grey Kia Sportage car.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man, was not injured. The road was closed for approximately six hours for collision investigation at the scene.

Road Policing Sergeant Phil Winning said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist who died following this crash.

“I am appealing for any motorist who was on the B7003 and who may have witnessed what happened or had a dashcam device fitted that may have captured the incident or the vehicles immediately prior to the collision.

“Anyone who can assist our enquiries should come forward as soon as possible.”

Fatal road crash: Man charged

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences following a fatal crash on the M8 near junction 1.

The crash happened around 9.10am on Monday, 18 December, 2023 involving a HGV and a car.

The driver of the car, a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man is due to appear at court at a later date.

Haymarket road fatality: victim named as police appeal for info

Road Policing officers are continuing enquiries following a fatal road crash on Haymarket Terrace.

A 79-year-old man died in the collision. He can be named as Allan Moir from Edinburgh. Mr Moir’s family has made the following statement:

We would like to thank the police, paramedics and members of the public who tried to save our beloved Dad and Grandad. As a family, we ask for privacy at this difficult time.”

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact them via 101, quoting incident 2828 of 4 February, 2023.

Police seek witnesses to fatal crash

POLICE are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A702 at Boghall, near Penicuik, yesterday.

The incident happened around 1.25pm on Thursday, 12 January, and involved a black Suzuki GSF 650 motorbike and a white Kia Sportage car.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a man aged 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions for crash investigation work to take place and re-opened around 6pm.

Sergeant Iain McIntrye said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and our enquiries into the circumstances of what happened are ongoing.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened and anyone driving in the area who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to please get in touch.”

Fatal road crash near Balerno: Do you have information?

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a one car fatal road crash on the A70 near Balerno.

The incident happened around 7.05am on Saturday (16 April), and involved a black VW Passat.

Emergency services attended and the driver, a 58-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are aware.

Sergeant Nicola Young said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family of the man who died and our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the crash or who has dash-cam footage that might help with our enquiries to get in touch.”
