Calton Hill death: 18 year old to appear in Court
An 18 year old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 15-year-old Willowbrae girl found dead on Calton Hill on 8 December last year. He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later today.
Mhari O’Neill’s body was found by a member of the public at about 06:30 after she had been reported missing in the early hours of the Saturday morning.
Det Insp Susan Balfour, of Police Scotland, said: “Our sympathies remain with Mhari’s family at this time.
“We will now begin the work to prepare this case for court and I would like to thank all members of the public who came forward with information to assist the investigation.”

Big Fit Walk calls on Edinburgh to join biggest short walk of the year
The people of Edinburgh are being encouraged to get outside and get walking this June as Scotland’s walking charity has launched the 16th annual Big Fit Walk.
Organised by Paths for All, the campaign will see Edinburgh become more active over the month of June as people of all ages and abilities are being asked to organise a 30-minute walk.
