Health’s off the agenda for Granton & District Community Council this month

Granton & District Community Council meeting

Monday 26 February, 7pm – 9pm

Venue: Royston and Wardieburn Community Centre, 11 Pilton Drive North

There’s been a change of plan for this month’s community council meeting. Helen Scammell, Co-Director of Pilton Community Health Project (PCHP) was due to address the meeting but she has had to reschedule due to inforeseen circumstances – Helen will now attend our April meeting.

I am now looking for a speaker for February meeting.

Looking forward to see you on 26th February.

£465,000 for student sport development

Take three girls: LIFT exhibition

Three local women staged an exhibition of their artwork at Madelvic House on Saturday. Dee, Johan and are all involved in the Low Income Families Together (LIFT) project based at Muirhouse Millennium Community Centre.

The event proved to be a great success, and the women plan to follow it up with another exhibition in the Millennium Centre later this month.

Granton & District Community Council’s latest newsletter

Granton & District CC’s latest newsletter was circulated at Monday’s meeting at Royston Wardieburn. Guest speaker at the meeting was Botanic Gardens’ Leonie Alexander, who shared information about the launch of the urban biodiversity initiative which will focus on Boswall Parkway.

Granton and District CC meets on the last Monday of the month at 7pm in Royston Wardieburn Community Centre. The next meeting is on 26th February – all welcome.

Much ado as Edinburgh College students take theatre costume exhibition to Stirling

Edinburgh College Theatre Costume students have delved into a Shakespearean world of farthingales and ruffs to launch an exhibition of Elizabethan inspired stage costumes this week. Elizabethan Costumes for Theatre Performance, an exhibition by Edinburgh College Theatre Costume students, is on display at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling until 27 February.  Continue reading Much ado as Edinburgh College students take theatre costume exhibition to Stirling
