Black tie ball raises £8k for local charities

DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre recently hosted The Lumos Ball, a spellbinding evening in aid of two Edinburgh charities.

Local charities Sands Lothian and The Yard were beneficiaries of the magical themed evening and representatives from each recently visited the hotel to receive a cheque for their share of the £8,000 raised.

Sands Lothian provides support for bereaved families of stillbirth and The Yard operates adventure play services for disabled children and young people. Both charities give light to people in their time of need which is why the event adopted the theme of The Lumos Ball this year.

Marcello Ventisei, General Manager of Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, said: “Supporting local causes and initiatives within our community is important to us and we were delighted to be able to present these funds to two very worthy causes. Thank you to all the guests who attended The Lumos Ball and donated so generously throughout the evening.”
