Free Living Well with Bowel Cancer event in Edinburgh

If you’ve been affected by bowel cancer, don’t miss out on the chance to attend Bowel Cancer UK’s free living well event on Saturday 15 June 2019 at Surgeon’s Quarter, Edinburgh, from 10am – 3.15pm.

The Living Well with Bowel Cancer event will bring together other people affected by the disease to share their experiences, an opportunity to hear presentations about lifestyle changes during and after cancer treatment, psychological and emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis as well as strategies for dealing with stress and anxiety.

They’ll also be a chance to take part in a stoma workshop, yoga and learn more about mindfulness.

Around 3,700 people every year are diagnosed with bowel cancer in Scotland making it the country’s third most common cancer. It’s also the second biggest cancer killer however it shouldn’t be because it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early.

Claire Donaghy, Head of Scotland for Bowel Cancer UK, says: “We welcome bowel cancer patients and their loved ones to join us for these fabulous events that will offer information, support and inspiration. It’s a lovely opportunity to meet others that have been affected by the disease.”

Book your place by Friday 7 June on Bowel Cancer UK’s website: bowelcanceruk.org.uk/livingwellevent
