Forthview Primary School parents proudly unveiled their latest story ‘Bear with Me’ at a launch at the City Chambers on Wednesday.
Bear with Me is a lovely story about the power of friendship and knowledge and it’s already proving to be a big hit with adults and children alike.

Former MP and MSP Malcolm Chisholm was particularly impressed. “Pleasure this morning to talk with wonderful parents of Forthview Primary in West Pilton (pictured above with outstanding headteacher Eileen Littlewood) at the launch of their wonderful book Bear With Me,” he said.
Malcolm, who is also a former English teacher, added: “I read the pictured back cover for a flavour of its timely multicultural living in harmony theme. Last year Forthview parents were highly commended at an awards ceremony in London for their book about young people’s anxieties and I am sure they will receive similar accolades for this remarkable book.
“The main characters are animals but no one can be in doubt that this is fundamentally about us and the power of kindness,friendship and common humanity against the forces that divide us.”
Last year Forthview parents produced the acclaimed ‘No Worries, ’ which tells the tale of a group of primary school children going on school camp, each facing and overcoming their different anxieties. Each of the eight characters’ stories was developed by a parent drawing on their own experiences. The book was published to coincide with Mental Health Week.
Now, Bear With Me promises to have just as much impact as it’s predecessor. Well done to Forthview’s magnificent seven!
