Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man that they wish to trace as part of an ongoing investigation into a serious assault in the city centre.
The incident took place in Garibaldi’s on Hanover Street around 1.30am on Saturday 21st April 2018, when a woman was subject to a serious assault.
Detectives believe that the man pictured may have information which can assist with their enquiries, and would urge anyone who recognises him to come forward.
The man pictured is described as being white, in his twenties or thirties, of slim build, with short dark-hair and with a well-spoken Scottish accent. He is pictured wearing a dark suit and tie, with a white shirt and dark dress shoes.
Detective Constable Sara McIntosh of Edinburgh’s Public Protection Unit said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the woman and an investigation has been ongoing into this incident since April.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured, or who has any information which may be relevant to our enquiries, to contact either us or Crimestoppers anonymously as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1841 of 22nd April 2018.
Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police in Edinburgh have arrested a man in connection with the serious assault of a woman in Garibaldi’s on Hanover Street around 1.30am on 21st April.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on 29th August and has been released pending further enquiries.
