You’d be barking to miss doggy Fun Day!

Dogs Trust West Calder hosts ‘pawsome’ Fun Day

Dogs Trust West Calder is inviting local dog lovers and their four-legged-friends to their annual Family Fun Day on Sunday 26th August.

Once again this popular event will be held at West Lothian College, Almondvale Crescent, Livingston, EH54 7EP. All proceeds from the day going towards the continued care of residents at the Rehoming Centre; dogs like Lurcher Rocco who recently came into the care of the team at West Calder.

Taking place from 12.00pm to 3.00pm, the event promises plenty of fun and games for everyone including the ever popular All Day Fun Dog Show with classes running throughout the afternoon including ‘Scoff the Sausage’, ‘Dog Most Like its Owner’ and ‘Musical Mats’; so make sure your four-legged friends have their paws at the ready. Other activities on the day include Temptation Alley and a Doggy Dash.

There will also be various stalls such as tombola, tarot reader, dogs trust merchandise, as well as other animal welfare charity stalls. The event is suitable for all ages and kids can especially enjoy the funfair and large garden games such as ‘Giant Jenga’. Attendees will also be able to capture the moment forever with the pet photographer and there is also a café on site serving refreshments.

There is no entry fee except from a small donation of either a tin of dog food, treats or a toy. These will all be given to the doggy residents at the rehoming centre who are all still looking for a home of their own.

Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre Manager, Susan Tonner, said: “There are all sorts of fun activities planned throughout the day so do come along and support Dogs Trust West Calder. We can promise you a really fun day out for all the family!”

“Everything we do is for our rescue dogs and we hope you and your four-legged friends can join us on the day and show your support. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the hounds in our care as the proceeds from the day help us to care for all the dogs like Rocco at the Rehoming Centre.”
