Serenity shortlisted for Scottish Cafe Award

Following the success of The Food Awards Scotland & The Scottish Hospitality Awards, the first Scottish Cafe Awards take place this evening. Aiming to celebrate the hard work of the best professionals and establishments in the cafe industry, thousands of nominations were received from the public.

Serenity Café is one of the finalists in the Best Not For Profit category. Serenity Café will find out if they have managed to win the competition and collect the trophy at the elegant ceremony which will be held at The Crowne Plaza Glasgow tonight (Monday 11th June).

Fiona Morrison, Chief Executive of Comas, said: “We are delighted that Serenity Café has been nominated for this award. Serenity cafe brings people together to encourage a sense of community and belonging. 

“The café is mostly staffed by and catering for those in recovery and offers a friendly, welcoming environment. It provides an easily-accessible combination of social hub and meeting point where people can find support, share their troubles and make friends.

“Serenity Café also offers a place of work to many, enabling and empowering them through the opportunity to earn income or take the first steps into volunteering. We would like to thank everyone who has nominated Serenity café for this award”.

The 1st Scottish Cafe Awards 2018 aim to recognise and reward those that work towards the high standard of work & commitment provided within the cafe industry by those who go above & beyond to provide the best experience for their customers.

The glamorous event promises to be the biggest and most unforgettable night in this year’s events calendar. Numerous prestigious accolades will be awarded to the most deserving professionals and businesses, including Café of the Year, Customers Most Wanted Café of the Year, Most Welcoming Café of the Year, Best Themed Cafe and many more.
