Police are appealing for witnesses after a high-value theft of merchandise from the Hibernian shop on Albion Place last Friday (11th August). Eighteen replica Hibernian football tops – nine home and nine away versions – were stolen.

New statistics released yesterday show that Scotland’s drug-related deaths continue to rise. Fatalities rose by 23% to 867 last year – a record level. With children going back to school after the summer holidays this morning, a poll by Action for Children Scotland has revealed that bullying is the top concern for Scottish parents. Children’s emotional health and wellbeing, the cost of school uniform and getting their children back into the school routine were also among parents’ main worries in the survey of 1000 families.
