Brand-new Post Office opens at Roseburn Terrace

At the Post Office we are continually looking to refresh our network and ensure we meet our customer needs.  A brand-new Post Office has opened this week (6/11) at Premier, 47 Roseburn Terrace.

This new Roseburn Terrace branch will offer customers Post Office services from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items and everyday banking, and bill payments.

The service will be one of our local style branches with a low-screened, open-plan Post Office service point carefully integrated into the retail counter. 

Post Office services will be available: Monday – Sunday: 8am – 10pm. 

This will offer customers 108 hours of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient for customers.

 The new branch aims to offer even more convenience to Post Office customers by extending the availability of Post Offices services in the area at Gorgie Road, Dalry Road, Dundee Street, West Maitland Street and Balgreen Road.

Scott Hamilton, Post Office Area Change Manager, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.

“We know how important our services are to customers, and we are confident that this brand-new Post Office will ensure that people in this area of Edinburgh have easy access to our services.”

Police seek three men following assaults in Roseburn

Police are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Roseburn. The incident happened at 3.15pm on a foot bridge at Roseburn Terrace yesterday (Saturday 27 March).

The two men aged 24 and 22 stopped to fix a bike on the footpath when they were approached by three men and assaulted. 

The 24-year-old man was taken the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.  The 22-year-old man did not require medical attention.

Detective Sergeant Callum Mill of CID in Edinburgh said : “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the assault to come forward.

“We are keen to trace three men, one of whom is described as being 5’9″, aged 18-19 years old, black hair swept back, tall, of heavy build and wearing a navy puffa jacket. 

“The second man is described as being, 5’6”, of thin build, aged 18-19 years old, with a red mark on the side of face, wearing a puffa jacket with the hood up.

“The third man is described as being about 6’0”, of thin build, aged 18-19 years old, wearing a light blue top and bottoms with orange writing on the front of it, wearing a face mask and hood.

“Anyone who has information that will assist this investigation is asked to contact us through 101 quoting 2302 reference number of Saturday, 27 March, 2021. 

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”

Witness appeal following Roseburn assault and robbery

Police are appealing for information following an assault and robbery in Roseburn.

The incident happened at round 8pm last night (Wednesday 18 November), when a 15-year-old male youth was assaulted and robbed outside a supermarket on Roseburn Terrace.

A black Nike bag with various personal items was stolen and the boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspects are described as three white men aged between 17 and 18-years-old and were all wearing face masks.

The first suspect was wearing a light coloured tracksuit with a black fur lined jacket and all black trainers.

Suspects two and three are described as wearing black hoodies, bottoms and trainers.

It is also reported that one of the men involved may have spoken with a scouse or Liverpudlian accent.

Detective Sergeant Rory Legge, of Edinburgh CID, said: “The boy involved has thankfully only sustained minor injuries but has been left evidently shaken by what has happened.

“The incident took place near a busy supermarket and we are asking members of the public to come forward with any information they may have.

“If you were in the area at the time and have any dashcam or mobile phone footage that could assist with our investigation I would urge you to contact police. I would also ask if you find a black Nike rucksack that you speak to officers.
