Re-engagement: Granton Waterfront

Edinburgh council has launched a robust 3 stage consultation exercises in relation to Granton Waterfront regeneration master plan. It sounds like this will be an inclusive and sustainable approach to development and it’s a ‘Re-Engaging’ process.
There will be three stages to the consultation as the vision for Granton Waterfront develops. Please find details about stage 1 event this week.

Wightman: Planning Bill changes will help tackle housing crisis
Changes agreed this week (24 Oct) to the Scottish Government’s Planning Bill will help tackle Scotland’s housing crisis by making land for house-building more affordable and by better regulating short-term lets, according to Scottish Greens housing spokesperson Andy Wightman MSP.

Save Leith Walk respond to Drum statement
Save Leith Walk has submitted 15,850 objections to Drum Property’s
plan to demolish 106-154 Leith Walk, to destroy the independent
businesses using the building and to build an over-tall and
dominating student residence in its place. All these objections
were gathered voluntarily and everyone given an opportunity to make
their own personal views clear.
Support for Drum’s Leith Walk plans
Drum Property Group has revealed high levels of public support for its planning application which is set to transform Stead’s Place, near the foot of Leith Walk. More than 2,000 letters of support for Drum’s development proposals have been lodged with the City of Edinburgh Council, in advance of the committee hearing later this year.
