The 50-strong range features a wide variety of products that offer bold flavours, vibrant colours and are loaded with plant-based goodness. Plant Revolution will include everything from fresh ready meals and on-the-go sandwich options to luxurious starters and decadent sweet treats.
The range was developed by Morrisons own chefs in response to feedback from customers who said they were looking for easier ways to adopt a vegan diet. It’s designed to appeal to both vegan and non-vegan customers looking to include more plant-based options in their diet.
· Plant Revolution No Chicken Shawarma Flatbread, 179g – £2.75
Prices start from as little as £1, making it easier than ever for those on a budget to shop vegan.
According to The Food Standards Agency, over 1 in 10 people in the UK now follow a vegan or vegetarian diet* including celebrities like Lewis Hamilton, Ellie Goulding, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gemma Atkinson and Ricky Gervais. Others like Laura Whitmore have been outspoken on trying to cut down on meat and incorporate more plant-based options into their diet.
Since its inception in 2014, over 2 million people have signed up to take part in Veganuary. Of the 582,000 who signed up to the campaign in 2021, it is estimated that 30% were still eating a fully vegan diet six months on from the campaign and more than half (52%) were eating at least 50% less meat and animal products than the previous year**.
Emily Bell, Plant Revolution Brand Manager at Morrisons, said: “We want our customers to enjoy eating well, no matter what diet they choose to follow.
“For part-time plant eaters, fully fledged flexitarians and the purely plant-based, our new Plant Revolution range delivers the bold and exciting flavours we know they’re looking for, and we’re excited to hear what people think of it.”
Toni Vernelli, International Head of Communications and Marketing at Veganuary, said: “We’re thrilled to see Morrisons adding so many exciting options to their vegan range and helping to make delicious plant-based eating accessible and affordable for everyone.”

To help customers with Christmas Eve tradition of leaving carrots out for reindeer
Morrisons is giving away 10,000 wonky British carrots to customers who want to leave out refreshments for Father Christmas and his reindeer on Christmas Eve.
The wonky carrots – which are oversized, misshapen and scarred, but still taste delicious – will be handed out in bags labelled ‘Carrots for Rudolph’ from the entrances of our 498 Morrisons stores across the UK from Wednesday 22nd December.
The move aims to introduce children to wonky veg and encourage families to buy large, misshapen or slightly scarred carrots. During the festive period, our carrot sales soar, from a typical 500k bags-a-week in Morrisons to over 1.4 million in Christmas week, although wonky carrots only account for between 10% to 15% percent of sales.
Andy Todd, Carrot Buyer at Morrisons said:“Leaving out a carrot for Rudolph is a magical Christmas tradition and we want to make it easy for our customers to get involved.
“At the same time, we want to highlight that wonky carrots are just as tasty as perfect-looking carrots and help support our farmers.”
As British farming’s single biggest customer, we chose to make farmers the heroes of our Christmas advert this year. We wanted to thank them for all the work they do to help make Christmas so special – including growing and picking the carrots for both our festive lunch and for us to leave out for Rudolph.
The tradition of leaving food and drink out for Father Christmas and his reindeer can be traced all the way back to ancient Norse mythology where children would leave out food for Sleipner, the eight-legged horse ridden by Norse God Odin, in the hope that he would stop by on his travels and leave gifts in return.

Morrisons Community Champions will be spending over 25,000 hours supporting local communities in run up to Christmas
Morrisons is committing over 25,000 Community Champion hours to spreading kindness this Christmas within local communities up and down the UK.
Across 12 days, our team of over 500 Community Champions – who support charities and community groups in their local community – will carry out thousands of acts of kindness. This will include donating gifts to key workers, giving away flowers and mistletoe, making donations to local food banks and surprising customers with gestures of kindness.
Other acts of kindness will be:
Gifting hampers to local heroes who have played a big part in supporting their local community
Donating gifts to families in need of support
Handing out ‘Be kind to yourself’ pamper packs to customers
Delivering gifts for local food bank volunteers
Surprising customers in our café and paying for their meal
Taking carrots to nurseries for children to leave out for Rudolph
Donating decorations to local refuge centres and volunteering to help decorate
Spending time helping prepare food at local community kitchens
Since the start of the Covid-19 global pandemic, we have donated more than £12 million of products to local food banks and community groups and raised almost £6 million for charity partners.
Rebecca Singleton, Community Director at Morrisons, said: “After seeing how much hope and joy was spread last Christmas, we knew we had to bring back our 12 Days of Kindness again this year.
“I am incredibly proud of our Community Champions who go above and beyond every day for those in need. Doing the right thing for our customers and the communities we serve has never been more important, so these 25,000 hours are dedicated to spreading festive cheer – and making good things happen for everyone this Christmas.”
Throughout December, we will also be giving away over a quarter of a million free Christmas cards for children to spread messages of hope.
Our Community Champions will be working in partnership with local groups and primary schools to deliver the cards for children to write messages on and colour in.
The children can post their cards to grandparents, neighbours and friends who they may not have seen recently due to the pandemic, or give them back to us to distribute to care homes and customers using our Doorstep Delivery service.
This activity is expected to impact tens of thousands of people living throughout the UK and follows our mission to help tackle loneliness within communities this festive period.
