Drylaw Good Apples: Session this Saturday

SATURDAY 25th JANUARY from 11am – 1pm

🍏🍐Hello Hello orchard lovers!🍎🍐

Exciting announcements for our new project Drylaw Good Apples; our first session will start on Saturday 25th January 11 – 1pm. This will be a general introduction and some maintenance.

All sessions are for adults and accompanied children and are free.

After that our sessions are:

Weds 29th 1-3pm. Pruning with RBGE- strictly bookable. FREE

Weds 5th Feb 11-1pm. Mulching and den building

Sat 15th Feb 1-3pm. Mulching and games

Weds 19th Feb 11-1pm. Bench making and woodcraft.

Meet us at the front door of Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre at the time stated above and we will walk over to the orchards with tools wheelbarrows etc. All welcome!

Drylaw Good Apples: Drop-In session

MONDAY 16 DECEMBER from 4 – 6pm at DRYLAW NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE

Anyone interested in finding out more about our wonderful new project in the secret Orchards in Drylaw – we are having a drop-in session to talk about what you would be interested in doing. We will be offering special activities for children and adults.

Come and meet the new Good Apples, Alia ( youth worker), Paul ( gardener) and Natalie (project lead) for a chat, apple pie and mulled apple juice.

Monday 16th Dec 4-6pm drop-in at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre.

No need to book- all ages welcome!

Two P/T Job Opportunities at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre

Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre are looking to recruit two freelancers for a pilot project. Drylaw Good Apples, based in two Drylaw community orchards.

We are looking for a Community Orchard Gardener (£20 an hour) and an Outdoor Youth Worker (£18 an hour). Both are both approximately 4 hours a week for approximately 3 months depending how the sessions operate in practice. Both posts require 2 x hours contact time with locals and 2 x hours prep/ materials ordering/ tidy up per week.

Initially, we are simply looking for people to express a note of interest by writing to me to state what they like about the project and what they can bring to it.

Deadline for this is 31st October 2024. We hope this project will appeal to you.
