£210,000 worth of drugs recovered after car stopped in Edinburgh

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences in Edinburgh.

Around 8.20pm last night (Tuesday, 4 August), road policing officers stopped a car in Calder Road and heroin and cannabis worth around £210,000 was discovered.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, and he is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today – Wednesday, 5 August, 2026.

Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said: This was a significant recovery which demonstrates our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
 
“We remain committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in our communities of Edinburgh.
