The Scottish SPCA is encouraging animal lovers in Edinburgh and the Lothians to consider giving a rescue pet a second chance at happiness. Staff at the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno are hoping to find new homes for 63 dogs, cats, rabbits, small furries, horses and other pets in their care this Rehoming Week, which runs from 8-14 May. Plant science and horticulture at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) took a small step back to the future yesterday with the opening of an efficient new “Traditional” Alpine House constructed in the image of its predecessor. Join Muirhouse Youth Development Group to celebrate their circus skills project. One night of circus entertainment, film screenings, face-painting and a circus buffet.
Circadius is an 18-month long adventure, exploring the history and magic of the circus in times gone by.
Circadius was created by young people from Muirhouse Youth Development Group, through a series of weekly skills workshops, focussed arts sessions, conversations with older people and visits to the National Library of Scotland.
Tickets are free but they are limited.
They can be collected from North Edinburgh Arts reception.
