Local area commander Chief Inspector Richard Horan (below) has recorded a message for the North Edinburgh community following the news that reported crime is down by almost a quarter in North Edinburgh (23%) compared to this time last year. Among the highlights:

Business housebreakings down 50%

Vehicle crime doubled detection rate – reduction of over 30% 

Violent crime down 20%

Robbery down 27%

ASB reports and calls down 10%

Housebreaking – down by almost 12%
