Early Learning Payment: new benefit opens for qpplications

A new benefit for low income families opens for applications this morning (Monday 29 April). The £250 Early Learning Payment is for children aged between two to three and a half and can be used for anything from children’s clothes and shoes to toys, books or days out. Swinney announces new early intervention fund

A new fund to help support children, young people and families has been announced by Deputy First Minister John Swinney – but grants won’t be available until June next year. This fund will replace the Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention and Empowering Communities Fund, which comes to an end next March.
