#SustainPCHP: Health Project survival battle moves on to next stage

Pilton Community Health Project have announced their latest plans for moving forward following funding cuts:

We are delighted to announce that Pilton Community Health Project will continue delivering support and services into 2020! With our fantastic crowdfunding campaign extended until 18th April (www.savepchp.com) and other fundraising initiatives ongoing, we plan to move forward into a time of regrowth for the project.

Following a period of uncertainty about the future of the project after drastic cuts were announced last December, we were thrilled to see how a community of people pulled together to form our #SavePCHP Campaign. We were really touched to see so much support from so many people, including those people who use the project, concerned locals, volunteers and past and present staff members.

Sadly, the cuts have resulted in some of our services being reduced or stopping entirely. Both our Food Team and Women Supporting Women (WSW) team will have a reduction in their services or provision hours but will continue through the next year. Our Physical Activity project has sadly come to an end, although we will seek to continue some of the activities such as walking groups.

Our Adult Counselling Service will also continue but unfortunately our Youth Counselling Service has also come to an end.  Our crèche will also continue to run, but on a limited basis.  Finally our admin and management team budgets have been greatly cut back as well. We will no longer have reception cover on Fridays, so the building will be accessed by appointment only on Fridays.

Moving forward, our focus now is to sustain PCHP and come back stronger than before and we are launching  a new #SustainPCHP campaign to reflect this.

More than anything, we are delighted we can continue to strive for Equality, Wellbeing, and Belonging for all, and will continue working alongside our local residents, volunteers, partners and supporters in North Edinburgh to achieve this.

We’ll be posting updates on our social media pages, so you can keep up to date with us on Facebook and Twitter.
