Edinburgh Shoreline Project: Green Tease event this Thursday

This Thursday from 6 – 8pm at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Shoreline project and Creative Carbon Scotland are excited to announce their second Green Tease event.

One year on from the start of the Edinburgh Shoreline project, you are invited to join us to reflect on project learning and activity to date and in being the first to explore a new interactive map of Edinburgh’s coast.

Developed by the Central Scotland Green Network Trust as a pilot project, the map contains a wealth of recently compiled data on the city’s coastal landscape. This includes all greenspaces, public and private, including derelict and vacant land, special coastal habitats, access routes and predictions on future coastal erosion.

Following a demonstration of the map and how you will be able to access the data in the future, we’ll hold breakout discussions focusing on the challenges and opportunities this information presents.

As the Edinburgh Shoreline project enters its next phase (running up to March 2020), we’ll explore key areas for further engagement with community groups about the future sustainability of Edinburgh’s shoreline, including:

o Green corridors and improvements green infrastructure
o Developing the sense of place
o Accessibility of the shoreline.

Green Tease is a network and ongoing informal events programme connecting creative practices and environmental sustainability across Scotland.
