Camp America comes to Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the first stop for thousands on young people hoping to spend their summer in America! 

On the 22nd of January, Camp America will be kicking off its UK recruitment events, starting in Scotland. The first fair will be held at ‘Our Dynamic Earth’ in Edinburgh, where hundreds of young hopefuls, from all over Scotland and the north, will try and bag their dream summer job.

The free event, starting at 11am, will provide young people with the opportunity to spend up to nine weeks, working at a summer camp in America. Over 70 Camp Directors will be present at the fair, looking to hire UK staff for a variety of positions. 

Every year thousands of young people across the UK, head to work at an American summer camp through Camp America; teaching a variety of activities.

The program has been running for 50 years and is a popular travel option for young people, who want to use their summer holidays to travel, have fun, gain skills and bulk up their CV. Camp America’s UK fairs will start in Scotland, followed by one in Manchester and one in London. 

“Our recruitment fairs give young people the opportunity to interview with different camps; find out more about them and hopefully walk away with an incredible summer placement,” explains Janet Henniker Talle, Senior Vice President of Camp America.

“The camp experience is an amazing chance for young people to; travel, make friends from all over the world, improve their CV, gain lifelong skills that they can take forward into their careers and make some amazing memories. By coming to the fair, applicants can get hired on the spot and could be heading off to America for the summer!” 

If you want to spend your summer in the States, make sure you don’t miss the recruitment fair in Edinburgh on the 22nd January, doors will open at 11am.
