Locals urged to back new community pharmacy for Granton Waterfront

Lindsay & Gilmour hope to open on Waterfront

Local residents and businesses within Edinburgh’s waterfront regeneration area in Granton are being encouraged to support a bid for a new community pharmacy to serve the area, by engaging in a public consultation launched in partnership with NHS Lothian this week.

The proposed new pharmacy – to be located on Waterfront Broadway – would be operated by Lindsay & Gilmour to meet the needs of the estimated 10,000 new residents of the regeneration area which lies two miles north of Edinburgh City Centre.

Lindsay & Gilmour Managing Director Phil Galt said: “Lindsay & Gilmour are delighted to be engaging in the regeneration programme at Granton Waterfront, which is one of the most significant waterfront regeneration projects in Europe today.

“New homes will be built, as well as significant amounts of new business, retail and leisure facilities which must be adequately supported by high quality health care facilities.  Lindsay & Gilmour have a well-earned and trusted reputation for providing the very best pharmacy care in the communities we serve and we are keen that as many people engage with the consultation, so we can move forward and increase the pharmacy offering to this growing population.

To gauge support for the Lindsay & Gilmour application a 90-day public consultation process has been launched jointly with NHS Lothian.

To respond to the consultation, you must  either complete an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TCCMHR6 or request a paper copy of the consultation document from Contract.CommunityPharmacy@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk.

Written requests will be accepted from:
