The Scottish SPCA has announced a new partnership with Clothes Aid, the largest charity clothing company in the UK.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity is now one of 12 partner charities that Clothes Aid support through their clothes donation scheme which repurposes second hand and unwanted clothes. The Scottish SPCA branded Clothes Aid bags will be delivered through letterboxes across Edinburgh with the goal that the public fill them with shoes, accessories and clothes that are no longer wanted before being collected free of charge.
Diane Aitchison, Manager at the Scottish SPCA’s centre in Balerno said, “We’re all extremely excited to launch this partnership with Clothes Aid.
“As an animal welfare charity we receive no government or lottery funding so we rely entirely on the support of the public.
“Without this support we would not be able to continue our vital work rescuing and rehoming abused, abandoned and injured animals in Scotland.”
Madalyn Bielfeld, Press Officer, from Clothes Aid said, “We are delighted to be working with the Scottish SPCA and supporting their fantastic work.
“Simply by filling a Clothes Aid bag you can help us raise vital funds to assist the Scottish SPCA help animals in need across Scotland.”

The Scottish SPCA is encouraging the public to raise awareness of the recycling scheme by using #FurrgetYourOldClothes on social media.
