Back in business: Doo’cot reopens tomorrow

The once very popular Doo’cot on Ferry road re-opens its doors this Friday after being closed for the past 6 months.

Newly appointed managers Robert Pearson and Graeme Brown announced on their brand new Facebook page:

“ Rumours are correct

Doo’Cot Pub re-opens under new management on Friday the 3rd of August at 11am.

For many weeks the management team have been working hard behind the scenes getting the pub ready.

We are still with the same Yorkshire brewery, being Samuel Smiths

We will be offering a wide range of Beers, Lagers, Wines and Spirits. As well as specialist hot beverages for those who prefer that.

In the coming weeks we will also open the restaurant serving quality fine foods at good prices.

Open 7 days a week until 11pm

We hope you will all join us this weekend and take advantage of our opening special offers.

Please help get word out that the pub is re-opening by liking, tagging and sharing.

Speaking to The NEN the couple said: “ We decided months ago to approach the brewery about opening the pub again as we both disliked seeing such a beautiful building with huge potential sitting empty in North Edinburgh”

“ Fast forward a few weeks and we spent time in Tadcaster learning all about the brewery and understanding their traditions”

“ We will employ local people to work in the bar / restaurant and we intend to work had to make the restaurant as popular as many others serving good quality food at reasonable prices. We hope to have the restaurant opened within the coming weeks”

“  When we posted on social media the response was incredible, with over 10k people seeing our initial post and over 100 comments”

“ We hope that many will use their Local and help us make it a success, we will keep everyone update on our Facebook page”

The Doo’cot benefited from a 2.8 million refit several years ago and since the couple have been appointed the brewery has installed new signage and external lighting. Dogs will also be welcome in the main bar and beer garden area too.”
