Meadows success for volunteer group

Compassion in World Farming’s local volunteer group in Edinburgh had a successful weekend at the Meadows Festival raising awareness for the live export trade in Scotland.

Volunteers dressed in cow onesies crammed into a crate for 100 minutes at a time to represent the horrific 100 hour journey 5,500 Scottish calves were faced to endure in 2017.

They collected over 700 signatures demanding that the European Commission ends live exports to Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.

Tommy Sheppard MP also lent his support to the Stop Live Transport campaign and climbed inside of the crate for a photo.

Caring children also made their voice heard by drawing lovely pictures of calves!
