Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) has teamed up with a national law firm to offer a free Will service to its supporters. The charity relies 100% on donations and has been called out over 1,700 times since 2013.
Donations left in wills have helped to fund over 50 of the life-saving missions it undertakes each year. The new Wills initiative has been launched in partnership with Watermans Legal, which helped to create the charity’s mascot, Scotty, last year.
The offer follows the announcement that SCAA plans to raise £6m in funds for a new helicopter to increase the capacity and resilience of their fleet and improve their ability to respond to incidents.
David Craig, Chief Executive of SCAA, said: “This generous offer from Watermans Legal will not only enable SCAA supporters to create a Will free of charge, but also to leave a legacy where their gift to the charity helps our dedicated team embark on life-saving missions. Every single penny allows our front-line staff to deliver an invaluable service right across Scotland and any charitable gifts left today will help save a life tomorrow and in the future.”
To take up the offer, SCAA supporters can contact the charity to be put in touch with an expert lawyer at Watermans Legal. Supporters who have already written a Will can also have it updated free of charge.
