No reprieve for local community centre
Emergency public meeting called
The Prentice Centre has been told that there is to be no more funding. Hopes had been raised that a solution could be found following a public meeting last month, but the centre received the news they had been dreading on Friday. Manager Janet Campbell says the situation is ‘dire’ and another public meeting has been called.
Janet Campbell said: “Since our public meeting at the Prentice Centre we have had a long succession of meetings with Councillors and Officials – only to be told by senior officers on Friday that we will be not allocated any further funding. This is now a dire situation – so we are organising a further public meeting next Wednesday in the Prentice Centre – Wednesday 27 April at 7pm.”
