A £1.8m plan for a new theatre and arts venue in Rose Steet has been given the go-ahead by city planners.
The city council’s planning committee has approved the plan by former ballet star, actor and director Peter Schaufuss to create the arts centre in the former Charlotte Baptist Chapel in Rose Street.
An alternative proposal by Glendola Leisure to create a ‘superpub’ complex in the same 1908 building was rejected.
