Building work underway at the Western General Hospital will enhance the care and treatment of patients by providing high quality services in improved physical environments.

New Sick Kids: still on course for Spring move

The second and final part of a review into compliance of all building systems at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) and Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) has been published.

Concluding work ordered by Health Secretary Jeane Freeman in July, the latest NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) report focuses on fire systems, electrical systems and medical gases. Edinburgh Integration Joint Board (EIJB) has approved plans to accelerate approaches to care for people at home and in a homely setting.

Designed to reduce the number of people being delayed leaving hospital and improve the care patients receive in their own community, Edinburgh’s ‘home first’ approach sets out plans to shift health and social care systems to provide greater support for people in their own or familiar surroundings. National award for Lothian’s Rapid Response Team

NHS Lothian’s pioneering Rapid Response Team is celebrating after they picked up a title in this month’s Scotland’s Dementia Awards.
