Granton Goes Greener: Beach Litter Pick

We are very excited to be organising another family-oriented rubbish picking event at Granton Beach with an eco group from St. James church at Goldenacre on Saturday 23rd September.

We will be meeting by the entrance to the beach at 11 am. Look out for Granton Goes Greener feather flag and our volunteers in green T-shirts💚💚💚

We will have rubbish pickers and rubbish bags for everyone, remember to wear some boots/ appropriate shoes rather than sandals and weather appropriate clothes.

Children must be accompanied by responsible adults.

TODAY: Free sewing class at Granton Parish Church

Granton Goes Greener’s FREE sewing class is on every Monday between 10 am and 12 noon at the East Hall of Granton Parish Church, Edinburgh and we would happily welcome any new participants regardless their sewing skills.

Our class is designed to support individuals working on their individual projects and help more advanced ones to develop their sewing skills or learn sewing from scratch.

Tomorrow: Granton Summer Festival

The weather forecast is looking good for the Summer Festival tomorrow at Granton Parish Church from 10am – 4pm.

Food all day from breakfast rolls in the morning, soup at lunchtime and finishing off with a burger BBQ at 3pm. Music from Granton Youth and Ukranian folk singers

Water of Leith litter pick this Saturday

GRANTON Goes Greemer are very excited to be involved in another rubbish picking event organised by Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC)💚💚💚

This time, we will be working around Water of Leith and the meeting point is off Coburg Street, opposite Ostara Caf, this Saturday (29/04) between 11 am and 1:30 PM.

We should have enough rubbish pickers for everyone, but you are welcome to bring your own!

Granton Goes Greener are now looking for DONATIONS of SPRING CLOTHES AND SHOES

The items we really need are:

-teenager clothes and shoes,

-children clothes and shoes ( from 2 years old),

-good quality shoes of different sizes,

-male and female Spring clothes.

Creative workshops at Granton Parish Church

Together with Granton Goes Greener we created a programme of up-cycling workshops for you.

Come and learn how to make jewellery and basic macrame knots which will enable you to create amazing designs of your own.

Free Plant Swap Event Tomorrow

A reminder about Granton Goes Greener’s FREE PLANT SWAP event at Granton Parish Church, Edinburgh tomorrow evening (Friday 5 pm -7 pm).

It is our second plan swap organised in partnership with lovely Alexandra from Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC)🌱🪴🌻

During the event, you do not necessarily have to bring a plant to swap if you do not have one. We are hoping that some people will bring more plants than they will take and we will have enough for everyone.

We encourage you to bring the following;

  • any plants ( outdoor and indoor),
  • -plant cuttings,
  • seeds
  • spare plant pots, etc.
